At the finish, Velocio-Sram (Alena Amialiusik, Lisa Brennauer, Karol-Ann Canuel, Barbara Guarischi, Mieke Kroeger, Trixi Worrack) captured its fourth consecutive TTT World Championship by covering the 38.8km course in 47 minutes, 35 seconds. Velocio-SRAM has won the elite women’s team time trial world championship since the event began four years ago.

Boels-Dolmans (Elizabeth Armitstead, Chantal Blaak, Christine Majerus, Katarzyna Pawlowska, Evelyn Stevens, Ellen Van Dijk) was only 6 seconds behind for the silver medal. Bronze medalist RaboLiv trailed by 56 seconds. Last to start, Velocio-SRAM had fallen 3 second behind Boels Dolmans at the third checkpoint before rallying with a lung-searing rebound in the final 5km climb in Richmond.

Velocio-Sram’s Cervelo frames were outfitted with the newly introduced Sram Red eTap with 55/42 chainrings and 11-26 cassettes and Sram Red Power Meters by Quarq. The women rode Zipp Super-9 Discs paired with 808 front wheels.

Boels Dolmans relied on Zipp wheels and SRAM RED eTap, meaning the new wireless electronic groupset has been ridden to a 1-2 worlds finish just weeks after its official introduction.
